Victorian Moonstone Intaglio Brooch Emerald with applied granulation and exquisiteDATE: Victorian, c. 1880 A beautiful Victorian brooch set with an intaglio carved moonstone centrepiece within a diamond and pearl set border. The scene depicted is of two classical women at a river bank, one bathing in the water, the other kneeling on the bank. The detailing is exceptional; it's quite rare to see a moonstone intaglio as the stone is notoriously hard to carve. The piece is modelled in 15 karat gold, and dates from the 1880s. STONES
