Spain, Francoist Era. An Order of Cisneros, Grand Cross Breast Star consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac WWI 39th Infantry Battalion Cap(Orden de Cisneros). Instituted in 1944. Two piece construction, in silver gilt with red, black and yellow enamels, a large central eagle superimposed on the obverse, measuring 75. 4 mm (w) x 75. 1mm (h), ornate vertical pinback flanked by dual stays, enamel damage to the 12 and 6 oclock arms, otherwise the enamels are intact, very fine.
