Constructed of silvered magnetic iron, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaying crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a central threaded lug retaining an original backplate and nut, the latter marked with a D. R. G. M. code, otherwise unmarked, measuring 38. 69 mm (w) x 43. 26 mm (h),
